What if the oceans started losing water very quickly, what do you think would happen to the Earth?
being. So if oceans did start to lose water rapidly, there would drastic changes as to how we use our water, when we use our water, and why we use our water. Out of the 70% of water on the planet, only 3% is freshwater and only 1% is accessible freshwater. If we were to be on a water shortage, it would create millions of problems forcing farmers that don't have water for their crops to get urban jobs raising the urban population by a lot. This loss of water could kill all the saltwater and freshwater animals lowering all sea life by a ton.
If this catastrophic event were to occur, It would cause lots oceans and lakes to shrink drastically of even disappear. If all water levels were to drop drastically, the Panama and Suez Canals could possibly disappear, the Great Lakes could potentially lose all connection between them. The small canal between the southern point of Spain and the Northern point of Morocco could create and new land bridge between them sealing off the Mediterranean Sea into one Big lake canceling any ship transports from Italy to Greece.
